Timothy Pacpaco, 20, studied composition at the University of the Philippines under Dr. Jonas Baes and Prof. Chino Toledo. He just graduated (cum laude) last June 2017. His works have been performed in Manila, Philippines and Yogyakarta, Indonesia. His work for solo guitar, entitled Pagtangis ng Kahapon (Agony of the Past) had won first prize in the recently held Composer’s Prize organized by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) last 2016. 

Timothy is also engaged with performance, being a member of Padayon Rondalla, a plucked string ensemble which started in 2016. He also did collaborations as a film scorer with film students when he was in college. His musical influences in the composition include Beethoven, Bartok, Stravinsky, and Takemitsu. He listens to gospel, contemporary and alternative music.
