Katharina Roth, born in 1990, started composition in 2003 when she met Tilo Medek. From 2009 – 2015 she studied composition with Dieter Mack and piano with Jacques Ammon at the University of Music in Lübeck. Additionally, she studied with Daniel D’Adamo at the Conservatoire de Reims (France). Masterclasses with Samuel Adler, Sandeep Bhagwati, Johannes Schöllhorn and Rebecca Saunders were important for her musical development. One of her main interests in music is working with voices. So in 2015/16 she went to India and studied the ancient North Indian Vocal music, called Dhrupad, with Gundecha Brothers. Currently, she is living in Vienna, studying composition M.A. with Carola Bauckholt (Linz) and following further studies in music therapy.
